Garden Party and Plant Sale - May 2013

A few of the early day grafters admire their labours.

Dee produced these beautiful table decorations.

Despite the long and cold spring weather, the villagers managed to donate agreat variety of colourful flowers, shrubs and vegetables.

Time for the workers to a chat whilst waiting for opening time.

Everything is set and ready to go and as 3.00pm approached the skies cleared and the light drizzle faded away.

Don't they look good!

Lee & Dave doing some dodgy dealing

And here come the punters. Peter M and his penguin friend are swept aside having dutifully manned the entrance.

Maid Marigold - washer up extraordinaire!

Audrey slices one of her many mouthwatering cakes. It is said, and I for one fully believe it, that many people return each year to savour the tea and cakes.

The PCC would like to say well done to the plantsmen and women of the village, the teafolk in the kitchen, those who ran the stalls, games and quizzes, to those who donated wonderful prizes and items of bric a brac, to Patsy Lydsey for hosting the afternoon in her garden and house and lastly thank you to everyone who came and spent money!

My thanks to Jo Lewington for additional photographs.
